Perfumers clarify fragrance into four major categories based on scents: floral, fresh, woody, and oriental.
Floral
Floral notes are the most popular and feminine scents. Floral fragrances contain the scent of a single flower (rose, gardenia, jasmine, lily of the valley and more) or a bouquet of several varieties. Floral scents are feminine and romantic. To get in detail variations, the floral notes can be subdivided into Soft Floral by mixing in vanilla, Fruity Floral with peaches, berries and exotic fruit. The addition of spicy notes makes Floral Oriental.
