How to Apply Mascara for Your Eye Shape
Mascara is ladies’ must have makeup weapon and most women won’t leave home without it. Mascara makes your eyes bigger, more clear, and avoid from sleepy looking eye. One of my friends complained that whenever she purchases a mascara based on reviews, it usually doesn’t work for her and she ends up wasting her money. As a beauty editor, people ask me what product I use on my makeup. It is not hard to let you know, but you have to know your eye shape and types of eyelash before selecting a good mascara.
More important thing about mascara is how you apply it by your eye shape rather than which mascara you purchase. Even if you have a good mascara but you use it in a wrong way, it will never work!
Start Up
Before you put on mascara, the first thing to do is using an eyelash curler to open up your eye.
Small Eyes
For women with small eyes, dream mascara is the one that makes your eyes look larger and rounder. Apply one coat and cover on the entire of the top and bottom lashes. For the second coat, apply on the center of the lash to make bigger eyes. This application tip gives the illusion of making your eyes wider and larger.
Wide Set Eyes
Use a thin mascara wand and apply it to your entire lashes and add a large wand mascara to coat from the inner corner to the center of your eye lid. When you apply second mascara and focus on the inner corner, it makes your eyes closer.
Close Set Eyes
Apply the opposite to the wide set eyes. While wide set eyes focus on inner corner, close set eyes should emphasis on the outer lashes to make your eyes look wider. First, coat your entire lashes then apply the second coat from the middle of the eyelid to the outer corner. If you apply the mascara wand back and forth close to the roots like zigzag, it makes your eyes darker with strong definition.
Monolid
If you have monolids, the key for your eye shape is to get long lashes. Try to focus on length rather than thickness. Select a lengthening wand mascara and use two coats to create wide-open eyes.
